Advices for a secure trekking

The 90% of your success will depend on a good organization.
When you are going to make a trip, a good planning concerning food, equipment, transport way, difficulty of the route, and length of the journey, among others things.
It is also advisable to go with a group of people and never alone.
In most national park circuits, there are bridges to cross main rivers, but anyway, you will have to face rivers and streams, so you will have to take into account some points. Spring is the season with more water flow. Also at any time of the year, the rain may increase any river flow, which at the same time will increase during the day and will decrease at night.
Mountain weather might also change suddenly, so take care of the different daily temperatures which might cause typical symptoms like height, hypothermia, sunstrokes etc.

Equipment
For one day journey, it is only necessary basic things: good footwear, one bottle of water and some food (fresh fruit, cereal bars etc.)

When the trip is going to take longer, it its necessary to get much more things ready before leaving: food, water, equipment etc..)

    • Trekking shoes should be light, comfortable to walk and should protect your feet inside and outside. Insole must be highly resistant and good adherence. You should never wear new shoes.
    • Smooth socks with the right thickness for a good isolation. It is good to use technical socks of Dry-fit or similar material to keep our feet warm and dry.
    • Trousers should not be tight, nor jeans or cotton trousers which may keep humidity. There are special technical trousers made for this activity.
    • Don’t forget to wear warm goretex coats or similar, which can provide you of waterproof but also breathability conditions. This is important in humid climate.
    • Gloves, cap and earflaps are also essential.
    • Sunglasses, and sun protection cream.
    • Good and adaptable rucksack
    • Is is also advisable to use a Feather Sleeping Bag. However, for humid weather it is better to use a sleeping bag stuffed with synthetic material.
    • A comfortable mat is another essential element
    • Special tent depending on the ground, weather and activity you perform.
